Acid stream kills man

A man died and two others were injured last night when the bung of a drum flew out and a stream of acid squirted into their faces. The dead man was Henry Harris, aged 47, of Cavendish Grove. Lambeth. He died of burns and shock in Wilson Hospital, Mitcham. Charles Knight was kept in for observation, and a third man went home after treatment. They were opening drum of phenol-carbolic acid at the factory of James Ferguson and Sons, Prince George’s-road, Mitcham. The pressure of gas forced the bung out.
